Review of Lifelong Learning Festival
I had never encountered this annual festival until I was asked to present on internet security at it this week. I'm so impressed by the breadth and depth of activites with the exact focus its title would indicate.
Lifelong Learning is about all aspects of self-improvement as you move through life. it's not just for retired people or those looking for extra skills, it's about fulfilling your potential and learning about areas that you may know nothing about.
My little talk on viruses and safe behaviour online pales in comparison to the amazing array of topics available over the week. I was particularly interested in the whole area of FETAC which I was not familiar with at all. If you finished your education before your Leaving Cert, then this offers a way of getting certification for learning new skills without having to go back through the formal exam process.
Well done to all the state and local government organisations involved in this, a big success for you all.
